Women and girls taking part in the SHE Project are learning to read. They’re being taught a variety of skills including sewing, embroidery, tie-dying and beading. They have become actively involved in addressing their social, cultural, and economic problems. In SHE training centers, they are gaining vocational and life skills, allowing them for the first time to become economically independent. When protection is necessary, they can receive housing in SHE shelter homes.

Hundreds of students have taken workshops in skills as diverse as jewelry making, shawl making and electrical repair. These families now have the means to financially support themselves, send their children to school and provide their loved ones with healthy food and good clothing.
